In Wall, 2007, I photographed an area where one half appears as a brick wall and the other half appears as a different colored brick wall, except that the latter half’s appearance was produced by rubbing white charcoal on black paper covering that same underlying wall as the first half. I wanted to make the paper almost disappear by the illusion of depth just as the photograph makes the photo paper almost disappear. |
